2011
CAREER EDUCATION FAIR

Student volunteers arrived early to set up for the first Solano College Career Education Fair.

Drafting/surveying student Phil McCaffrey Jr. greets an early visitor.

Visitors were greeted by student volunteers, given a backpack to carry goodies and a ticket to spin the KUIC prize wheel. Everyone was a winner! Prizes included logoed merchandise, plants, compact fluorescent bulbs, electronics donated by Best Buy Fairfield, airplane rides, beauty make-over, interior design consultation from Kristine Passalaqua Studio of Interior Design, refurbished furniture by Vallejo's Designs By David, quilted pillows by Pieced on Earth, movie tickets and more.

One of the highlights of the day was the Virtual Welding exhibit put on by Lincoln Electric. Here we see Superintendent/President Jowel Laguerre enjoying the virtual welder.

The photography studio was busy all day as visitors were invited in for a portrait sitting.

Cosmetology students set up a temporary shop in the street fair area and provided free braiding, make-up and manicures for visitors.

Vallejo Sanitation and Flood Control District (2010 CWEA Plant of the Year!) provided a TV Truck to show visitors what goes on below their feet.

Visitors explore the Emergency Medical Technician program.

Winner of one of the wonderful prizes - pillows by Vallejo's Pieced on Earth chats with Charles Eason of the Small Business Development Center.
