Automotive Technician


The Automotive Technician program is designed to prepare graduates for employment in the automotive industry as apprentice mechanics, parts people, service station attendants or specialists in one of the many areas in, or jobs related to, the automotive industry.

Body and Repair
 

The Auto Body Technician program is designed to acquaint you with the fundamentals of auto body repair including safety, welding, brazing, hammering, use of plastics, shrinking, sanding, and filling. You will gain experience in the installation and removal of glass, frame straightening, and painting. To further prepare for the job market, estimating is also emphasized in Solano’s program.

Opportunities are available for highly skilled people in the specialized fields of auto body repair, auto refinishing, auto frame straightening, and auto insurance damage appraising. Persons who demonstrate a high degree of skill and natural talent will enjoy unlimited opportunities in these fields.
